A Princess is Always Right
by Stephanie Burkhart

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
GENRE: Steampunk Romance
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

BLURB:

Sophia may be the youngest Windsor, but she knows her mind. A Princess of York, she's committed to do her duty – prevent Jonas Byron from finding Nikola Tesla and decimating the time line.

Jax Ruston is a rugged metalsmith with curly hair and dimples to die for. A resident of 1855, he's pledged to help Sophia find Jonas. Together, they journey across continental Europe in pursuit of Jonas.

Despite her duty, Sophia's attracted to handsome Jax. However, he's committed to living in 1855. Can Sophia keep her focus on her mission, or will desire interfere with her task? Only one thing is certain: a princess is always right.

EXCERPT

Jax raked a hand over his hair. He did not want her to leave without him. That meant only one thing. He had to go to her and convince her they couldn't be separated. He stood and cast his gaze on Ian. The boy slept soundly. Jax had to find a compromise by doing right by the boy and doing right by his heart.

He closed the door behind him gently and checked on Sophia's room. She wasn't there. Then he went downstairs. Peeking into the study, he saw Lady Charlotte placing covers over Lord Ridgecroft and making him comfortable. Could she be in the kitchen? He continued down the hall and caught a glimpse of two people sitting on a bench. Jeeves and Sophia. Fisting his hands, he drew in a breath and steeled up his courage.

Jax knocked on the glass of the french doors and stepped out. She looked up at him, sadness etched in her face.

"Can we talk?" he asked.

Jeeves glanced at Sophia. She offered the butler a small smile. "It's fine."

Jeeves stood and bowed. "If you'll excuse me, I'll finish my rounds and retire for the evening."

"Good night, Jeeves," Jax said.

The butler nodded and left.

"I had no idea I had a son. This was a surprise."

"It's clear the boy is yours," she said, softly. "And so is your duty."

"I won't deny it," Jax paused. "And I do want to get to know him, but I don't want to lose you either."

"I have to leave tomorrow."

He pursed his lips, frustrated. "I knew Fiona briefly. I was attracted to her because she was kind, but I knew nothing would ever come of us. My father suggested she knew that, too, that's why she never told me."

"I'm sorry." Sophia looked at her fingers in her lap, then up at him. "She should have contacted you. It would have been the right thing to do."

He sighed and took the seat next to Sophia placing her hand between his. He snared her eyes with his stare. "The right thing to do is let me go with you tomorrow. I care for you."

"I know what it's like to lose a parent. I was twelve when my mother passed away. I still remember the little things, like her smile. I remember traveling all over Britain with her. When my mother passed away, a sadness filled my heart that I thought I would never replace. That little boy is hurting right now. He needs you."

"He can come with us." Jax just blurted out the first thought that came to his mind. If Sophia wanted Ian to be close to Jax, then it only made sense to have Ian come with them. Jax thought the idea was inspired.

Sophia's mouth fell open, then she closed it, before she scrunched up her brows. "Are you serious? That we take a five-year-old traipsing all over Europe with us?"

"Why not? It's the only way we can be all together." He had no idea what it would entail, but what better way to solve his problem? He would get to know his son and remain close to Sophia.

MY REVIEW

A Princess Is Always Right (The Windsor Diaries Book 4)A Princess Is Always Right by Stephanie Burkhart
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have to be honest, when I started reading, it was really hard for me to follow the storyline, the first chapters were like basic chinese for me, so many characters and situations that I didn't understand! So I went to the Amazon's Author page and find out that this is the fourth book of a series, knowing this, I re-read those chapters with an open mind (still not understanding a word) and on Chapter three everything falls in place and from there is a really fun read!
The plot is full of adventure, time traveling, family situations, romance, action and some history, with a likeable Heroine, a lovely Hero and a sweet little boy who will capture your heart, "A Princess Is Always Right" is a captivating book that's going to have you wanting more!!

THE HUNTER'S MOON BY BETH TRISSEL - SUPER BOOK BLAST + GIVEAWAY

The Hunter's Moon (Book 1--Secret Warrior Series)
by Beth Trissel

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
GENRE: YA Fantasy  Romance
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

BLURB:

Seventeen year old Morgan Daniel has been in the witness protection program most of her life. But The Panteras have caught up with her and her younger brother. Her car is totaled, she's hurt, and the street gang is closing in when wolves with glowing eyes appear out of nowhere and chase away the killers.

Then a very cute guy who handles a bow like Robin Hood emerges from the woods and takes them to safety at his fortress-like home. And that's just the first sign that Morgan and her brother have entered a hidden world filled with secrets.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
EXCERPT
Oh, no. Was the wolf hit? Morgan prayed not. She sensed him trying to protect them, and couldn’t imagine why, or why he seemed like ‘her wolf’.
Cries, like the shrieks of a panther, carried through the trees. A chill crawled down her spine. Were the woods filled with creatures she thought long gone from these mountains?
More wolfish snarls erupted and snapping, tearing. Good. He lived. She nudged Jimmy. “Can you see anything?”
He craned his head around the rocks. “Not through the smoke and fog.”
Eerie howls rose from the surrounding woodland on every side. A whole pack must be gathering. Morgan wasn’t certain whether to be frightened, fascinated, or hopeful of rescue. Still light-headed, not sure she even saw clearly, she watched the black wolf reappear; with him, a great white wolf whose green eyes shone like starlight. The most extraordinary yet. Together, the two loped after the brown and gray one. Judging by the high-pitched calls, there were more wolves out there. And panthers, or were they mountain lions?
Snarls, growls, and the shrieks of enraged felines ripped through the smoky shroud. The pack wasn’t after her and Jimmy. Not now, anyway.
EXCERPT
The door at the end of the gym burst open and little Eddie Frolander ran inside. “The Japs bombed Pearl Harbor!” he shouted. “Melvin’s dad heard it on his radio.”
Everything went silent, all but the bouncing ball echoing through the gymnasium. The players surrounded Eddie and everyone began talking at once.
“Where’s Pearl Harbor?” Maxine asked me.
“I don’t know,” I answered. We climbed down the bleachers to join the players.
Nine-year-old Eddie’s words tripped over one another. “I dunno any details, but Mr. Bracht said to tell everyone. He said we might be at war and spread the word.”
“War.” The word was murmured repeatedly through the crowd.
“Pearl Harbor is in Hawaya. The president said they bombed the navy base there.” Eddie’s dark hair fell over his eyes.
Maxine rushed over to Billy and he threw a sweaty arm around her shoulders. At that moment, I longed for a shoulder to lean on too.
Donnie Frolander, Eddie’s older brother, sidled up to me. “If we’ve been attacked, what will it mean?”
“Surely the president will tell us what to do.” I said. “President Roosevelt has seen us through a lot already.”
“Maybe we ought to head over to Mr. Bracht’s house,” Billy suggested.
“The Council was mad when Mr. Bracht bought a battery radio last year,” Donnie said. “But maybe this is a good reason to have a radio in town. Imagine if we didn’t find out until Tuesday when Tularosa comes to play the game. Boy, would we look dumb.”
MY REVIEW
Weeping Women SpringsWeeping Women Springs by Tamara Eaton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Weeping Women Springs is the emotional journey of five different characters that share the same tragedy, the lost of a love one.
This past weekend was cloudy and rainy, the perfect ambiance for reading and specially for this book, I don't want to give too much info, but I want to add to the blurb and excerpt this: You're going to CRY, yes, the plot is full of emotions, this was a personal type of reading because I also lost one close relative so I could find a little of myself in each one of the women of the story. Excellent written, with complex characters, emotional situations and a really interesting storyline makes this book unique.
Highly Recommended.
MATHIEU BY IRENE FERRIS - REVIEW TOUR + GIVEAWAY
Mathieu
by Irene Ferris
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

GENRE: paranormal/romance

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
When Mathieu followed his king to war, he knew the Crusades were holy, that God went with him, and that he would return to the arms of his truest love. 800 years later, enslaved by the demon Gadreel, all Mathieu knows is pain.
After winning his freedom, Mathieu emerges from the dark void of captivity, only to find himself facing the soul of the love he left behind, in the eyes of Jenn Bartlett. Can he do the terrifying thing she asks of him, and still save her from the monster he has become? Or will the darkness
overcome them both?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

EXCERPT

Jenn Bartlett—Jennifer Leigh only to her parents, and then only when she had done something deserving severe punishment, like the time she’d summoned a Kelpie into the swimming pool at her big sister’s graduation party—sobbed into Marcus’ shoulder as silence fell over the room like a shroud.

Marcus shifted, held her tighter and whispered, “It’s over.  At least I think it is.”  He was shaking too, but attempting to hide it as to not let her know how afraid he was. She knew how sensitive he was, how he could sense the slightest eddy and flow of occult energy when she felt nothing.  He knew better than anyone how closely they all had just skated to the edge of death.

Jenn clutched him for a moment more, then pushed him away so that she could try to lean up against the wall. Her throat was on fire, and every breath hurt. She rasped out, “I think so too,” and instantly regretted speaking.

Marcus stood with her, steadied her while she composed herself.  After a moment more, she tried again, “There’s light…too much light for the room.”

She felt him turn around to look where the shattered remnants of their painstakingly drawn circle would be. “Damn.”  In that one word, she heard awe and dread mixed together in his flat Midwestern lack-of-an-accent accent.

MY REVIEW

MathieuMathieu by Irene Ferris
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Mathieu engulfs you in such a dark and mysterious world that you are not going to be able to stop reading.
The story starts a little slow, but once you pass the first chapters the pace flows steadily through the end. The plot is full of action, with some raw scenes, magic, demons and an unexpected end. The amount of feelings are overwhelming, when I finished the book, my heart felt heavy.
Mathieu is a fantastic character, complex, dark and tortured.
I hope to see more of Him soon.
This book is a four solid stars!
