THERE ARE NO VAMPIRES IN THIS BOOK BY MEGAN BAILEY - VIRTUAL & REVIEW + GIVEAWAY

There Are No Vampires in This Book
by Megan Bailey

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
TARYN HAD NEVER BEEN NORMAL.
She wasn't like other girls- not after that night, that thing, took her parents from her. She made it through hospitals, doctors, and therapy by playing by their rules and saying all the things they wanted to hear. But, inside, she held on to the truth.
She knew what she saw.
SHE SPENT HER TEEN YEARS PREPARING IN SECRET
With her two closest friends at her side, she dedicated herself to a mission. She would train and she would hunt. When the time came, she would be ready. No one she loved would be hurt by one of those monsters ever again
But with high school behind them, new found freedom comes with new responsibilities and new problems. Instead of weapons and self defense classes, she now has jobs and bills. The relation-ship with her best friend was suddenly shifting into new, scary territories. How could she take down bad guys if she couldn’t get her own life in order?
AND THEN THERE WAS HIM.
A mysterious stranger who pops up in suspicious places and throws off all sorts of bad vibes. His face now starred in her regular nightmares and plagued her thoughts in the day. Was she overreacting? Or, was this finally the monster she had been waiting for? As the scars of Taryn’s past rise up to haunt her, she begins to question herself. With her mission faltering and her friendship off kilter, would life ever be the same again? Would she ever be the same?
EXCERPT
She hit him with a cushion. “Shut up and play the game.”
“Truth or dare?” Aiden asked, his tone resigned.
“Dare. I’m not letting you mock my truths.” She leaned forward and started to mix another drink. One she definitely didn’t need but was having anyway. She wasn’t thinking about this lonely dramatic stuff anymore tonight. Even if she had to drown it.
“I dare you to kiss the first guy you lay eyes on.” Aiden bolted forward with his announcement, but she was faster.
Taryn squeezed her eyes shut instantly. “Nice try, goofball.”
“Oh, that’s not fair,” he grumbled.
“Should have worded it better,” she mocked him in a singsong voice. Eyes still closed, she raised her glass, a little wobblier than before. “Let’s make a toast. To being losers together on a Friday night.”
Instead of a tap of his can to her drink, she felt his fingers slide across the sides of her face and tangle into her hair. Her eyes popped open and locked on his, just inches away.
“Gotcha,” he said in a low voice.
Before Taryn could gasp, his mouth covered hers. It was no gentle, hesitant brush of the lips like she would have expected. No, Aiden met her with a firm, warm pressure that melted her insides like chocolate. His fingers in her hair tightened, sending electricity zinging through her. The drink in her hand was forgotten and slipped to the floor. Neither of them seemed to notice. He ran his tongue across the seam of her lips, asking, and the room tilted. She opened for him. His teeth caught her lower lip and tugged, lightly. She could have sworn she felt the tingle right down to her toes.
He pulled back, dragging his lips against hers in a slow caress. They sat there in the silence, eyes wide. Her head swam and her heart raced. Her scalp tingled where his fingers still pressed into her hair. Those eyes of his had turned to that shade of rich, dark blue. They trailed back down to her lips, which felt a little swollen.
From kissing him. Aiden. Heat blossomed through her belly. That just happened. But, for once, she wasn’t running a million thoughts through her head, worrying each one to death. She wasn’t thinking at all. Her panicky, loud brain was turned off, leaving something dark and hungry at the reins. Taryn wasn’t going to question it. Not tonight. She grabbed Aiden’s shirt and pulled him back down to return the kiss.
Somewhere in her head, it registered.
She was kissing her best friend.
And it was amazing.
LEAD ME HOME BY CANDI WALL - VIRTUAL & REVIEW TOUR + GIVEAWAY
Lead Me Home
by Candi Wall
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

BLURB:

Home Is Where the Heat Is, Book 2

As far as Chloe Garrison is concerned, Nick Westing was carved by the gods. Her one and only plan while visiting her best friend in Texas: get that sexy cowboy into her bed as often as possible until it’s time to return to New York.

After a whirlwind week she slips away, thinking it best to make a clean break. Except she can’t get Nick out of her head. And when he unexpectedly walks into her office, her first instinct is to find her defenses before she loses her panties.

Nick jumped at the chance to accompany his brother to New York for a photo shoot, but now that he’s here, he’s pissed. Seems Chloe is doing everything in her power to ignore him. The tender part of him understands her need for space.

The wilder side of him teases and torments her until she finally admits she’s missed him. Even though she walks away, in his book it’s a win. Because one way or another, he’s going to convince her they belong together.

EXCERPT

“Sexy and soft,” he murmured.

He almost laughed when she sat up, her eyes hard. “I’m not soft. I just love Miya to death.”

“It’s a form of softness, and it’s nothin’ to get all riled about.” Man, she was prickly. “You love your friend. That’s great. It tells a lot about who you are inside. And it shows me that when you shake off the city, you’d fit in perfectly in small-town life.”

Her entire frame stiffened. “Yeah, well small towns are not in my future. It would be suffocating.”

“That’s too bad. Seems to me you like it here. A lot more than you admit.” He’d pegged her for the no-commitment type, but he hoped to convince her to hang in with him for a bit. Even with the distance between them, just to see what they could be. That didn’t mean he needed her it’s-not-you-it’s-me attitude. “Whatever you decide. I’m here for the party. If you say these last days are all we are, so be it. If you want to try at long distance, great. Either way, I figure you should know I’m here if you want to give it a go beyond sex.”

“Nick!” Shawn shouted. “Come on!”

Nick backed away. “We good?”

She nodded. “Yeah. We’re good.”

He smiled, wondering how quick she planned to run now that he’d mentioned something more than sex. “I’ll be back soon.”

MY REVIEW
Lead Me Home (Home is Where the Heat Is, #2)Lead Me Home by Candi Wall
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

City Girl plus Hot Cowboy equals a steamy read.
Lead Me Home, it's a short book but full of hot sex,we have two stubborn main characters, Chloe and Nick, they are not my favorite couple because to me there's a lack of chemistry between them, everything is fast paced (really fast paced), with poorly developed their relationship BUT, the author wrote really hot scenes so I'm willing to let all that aside, I'm a low maintenance reader.
The book it's a walking cliche, but with a nice cowboy rear.

COCKPIT BY KATE DEVEAUX - VIRTUAL TOUR + GIVEAWAY

Cockpit
by Kate Deveaux

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
High school sweethearts re unite forty years later at 37,000 feet.
Fifty eight year old commercial airline pilot, Bobbi Cooper, gets a blast from the past when her high school sweetheart, Mack McConnell, appears as one her first class passengers on her 747 transatlantic flight to London.
Used to being in control at all times, Bobbi is reeling from a crummy marriage and she must learn at Mack’s capable hands that losing control can be oh so sexy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

EXCERPT

Bobbi hadn’t seen him in ages. Since high-school senior year, exactly forty years ago. She only knew that because she’d thrown the fortieth reunion packet in the trash the last time she’d been at home long enough to open her mail.

Mack shook his head. “I don’t believe it. They said Captain Bob Cooper was flying the plane. Not in a million years did I think it would be you. Bobbi Cooper. I’d heard you were flying for Atlantica,” he said with a sexy smile.

Oh, and that smile. Those lips. She wondered what else he’d heard. Her cheeks burned. She hoped she could avert any small talk about her disastrous marriage, which she was sure must have filtered back to him through the small-town grapevine of Summer Hill, North Carolina.

“Yup. I’m a captain,” she said quickly, then paused, laughing with embarrassment at having stated the obvious. She motioned to the four gold stripes on the epaulettes on her starched white uniform shirt. “Well, I guess you can see that.”

“Yes, I can.” His eyes lingered on hers and she felt her cheeks flame hot as she shifted uncomfortably in the aisle.

“You going to London?” she asked more nervously than she would have liked, trying to think of something to say. Some sort of filler. Anything to distract from that feeling she got when he looked at her, a cross between anxiety and pleasure. “I mean, of course you’re going to London—everyone is.” The words tumbled quickly from her lips.

Mack laughed. That hearty laugh. Still the same, all these years later. Even a bit deeper than she remembered. Yes, his voice was definitely deeper. She guessed that was what forty years did. If that were all it had done to her, she’d be laughing. Age was much crueler to women than to men, she’d decided when she’d turned fifty.

His eyes were an even darker blue than she remembered. Shit, that had been a long time ago. Her cheeks burned even hotter and her heart beat faster as she wondered if he remembered those nights at the lake so many years ago.

“I’ve got some business in London for a couple of days and then on to a conference in Brussels,” Mack said, answering her question, making her jolt back to the conversation. “I just can’t get over that it’s you. It’s really is good to see you, Bobbi. I mean, what are the odds of us meeting twenty thousand feet up in the air?” he asked, still shaking his head.

“Thirty-seven thousand,” she said, finding her voice and correcting him.

“Right, Captain, thirty-seven thousand feet in the air. Why don’t you sit down for a minute and catch up?” he asked, motioning to the unoccupied seat next to him.

“Oh, Mack,” she said, catching the eye of the passenger across the aisle, who must have been wondering what the captain was doing loitering about the cabin, nearly swooning over an old flame. “I gotta run to the back...and then we’ll be landing soon.”

“Of course. I forgot, this is work for you.”

“That it is. Good seeing you, Mack,” she said, resisting the urge to reach out and touch him on the shoulder just once. For old time’s sake.

MAISY AND THE MONEY MARAUDER BY ELIZABETH WOODRUM - VIRTUAL TOUR + GIVEAWAY

 MAISY AND THE MONEY MARAUDER
by Elizabeth Woodrum

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
Maisy is back! Lunch money has been stolen at West Valley Elementary, and everyone's favorite fourth-grade detective in on the case. With a cherry lollipop in hand, her fedora, and her trusty notebook, Maisy steps into her black and white mystery world to search for clues. Join Maisy on her quest to unmask a thief in Maisy and the Money Marauder.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

EXCERPT

Then, something strange began to happen to Maisy.  She was suddenly reminded of a part of the pirate book they had been reading.  One of the characters had been marooned on an island before the pirate ship found him.  He had walked through underground caves and discovered a treasure chest full of gold and jewels.  The pirates on the boat eventually stole it from him.

Maisy’s black and white world briefly shifted to an entirely new scene. The hallway was no longer just a black and white version of its usual brightly lit, blue tinted self.  The colors all shifted to a single dull gray hue.  The tiles transformed into wet, stone slabs.  The walls were a smooth rock that curved around the corner.  When Maisy reached the end of the hallway and turned, she could almost swear she heard water trickling from somewhere up ahead. She could see the door of her classroom.  But, it looked like the wide mouth of a dark cave.  As she followed her classmates inside, she blinked and her imagination found itself settling back into her black and white detective world.

EXCERPT

Her head rested perfectly atop his shoulder. She wasn't a short woman and he wasn't a tall man. He only had three inches on her, but it put her at the perfect height for his embrace. She fit him. Her beautiful body, soft and full, fit him perfectly too. This wasn't a woman who would break at his touch.

He wanted to kiss her. He wanted more than that, but just now he wanted to feel her lips against his. He had refrained the night before, glorying in her touch alone, forcing himself to let that be all he needed. But today he wasn't sure it would be enough. Today he felt desperate and unsure.

He placed a finger under her chin and lifted it slightly. Her eyes met his in question, but he didn't answer in words. He answered by settling his lips over hers in a soft, gentle brushing of skin against skin. Then he backed away slightly.

Her eyes were closed and her lips slightly parted. She looked a bit dazed and very unsure, but she wasn't pushing him away. He could smell her growing interest and it made his heart swell with newfound hope and need.

He brushed his lips against hers again before deepening the caress. She returned the kiss, a little inexpertly but with all the passion he'd known she possessed. She opened her mouth to him.
