EVERYWHERE IT'S YOU BY C.B. SALEM - VIRTUAL TOUR + GIVEAWAY

EVERYWHERE IT'S YOU
by C.B. Salem

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
Legal investigator Kristina Andersen has been drugged.
It started when she came into work and was tasked with finding the firm's biggest client: the intense, enigmatic pharmaceuticals billionaire Landon Tatum.
She'd just had a sexy encounter with him while working a birthday party undercover at a seedy strip club the previous night. Now he's missing, and she needs to find him.
Problem: the drug coursing through her veins makes it so every man she sees looks like the man she's looking for.
And that's just the start of it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

EXCERPT:

Her last-night’s-self walked to the front of the room, balancing gracefully on very high heels as the first guest arrived. Then another bout of nausea washed over her, fogging her mind. Her eyes had to be lying.

Landon Tatum had just entered the room.

This was wrong. He’d come in later, she knew it. Fifteen minutes before the birthday boy, maybe twenty. There had been more than a dozen people there. Even Fordelli, the man she had come to watch, had arrived first. She’d been watching very carefully and this wasn’t the kind of thing she’d forget.

He wore a black suit, black shirt and a silver tie. That wasn’t right either. But the clean-cut, brown hair, the thin-lipped mouth, the dark eyes, they were as she’d remembered. The perfect, sharp cheek bones with a slightly crooked nose that looked like it had been broken in a fight once and never fixed. It was the kind of “blemish” she couldn’t take her eyes off of.

She breathed shallowly. This was wrong. When had she become this attracted to him? Until recently, she’d thought of him as an attractive guy. Not mouth-watering can’t-take-my-eyes-off. That hadn’t happened to her since high school.

She watched herself approach to offer him a drink. Then the next guest came in, to the right of where her eyes had been focused.

Tatum again. Sharp cheeks. Slightly crooked nose. Dark, perceptive eyes.

Another black suit, black shirt, but this time a blue tie. She flicked her eyes between the two of them. They were both there. She was seeing two of him.

HEART-SHAPED STONE BY ARBY CORRY - VIRTUAL & REVIEW TOUR + GIVEAWAY

Heart-Shaped Stone
by Arby Corry

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
Caila, like most dreamers, just wants to be wanted. Unlike most dreamers, she's wanted by the CIA.
When the last decade of thirty-two year old Caila Domenici’s life disappears, destroyed in a car accident, she is forced to begin again. Defying doctor’s orders to slow-go-it, she sets out to navigate the world on her own. It's not going well. Coddled from birth, everything from a bus schedule to how to boil water confounds her. Worse yet, she's about to accept her meddling mother's offer to pay for food and rent. With just a hunch her talents extend beyond that of daughter of privilege, Caila searches for her past. Before she can find it, it finds her. And the handsome azure-eyed stranger who’s saying he knows her is somehow part of it.
Caila always believed there had to be more, but now, on the verge of discovering the truth, she must decide which is worse – never knowing who she really is, or knowing too much.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

EXCERPT:

Reese was being too nice. Something was up - their deep conversation the night before, the bubble bath, the tea, turning down her bed and now breakfast? Caila wasn’t suspicious by nature, and in most cases trusted more than she should, but where Reese was concerned she dropped all pretenses and questioned his every move. He was much too calculating to not see opportunity in everything he did. Caila recognized that in him right away. Her mind was now churning with theories. Why, if he was up to something, would he be so blatant with this sudden kindness? Did he think she would not notice?

Then she imagined the most unexpected thing.

Maybe he wasn’t up to anything at all. Maybe this was another side to the man she detested right from the start. The invader, the man who came to make her life a living hell and push aside her father may not, after all, be the man she believed him to be. But even that theory was short lived. No, she thought, he has a motive.

OUT OF CHARACTER BY DIANA MILLER - VIRTUAL & REVIEW TOUR + GIVEAWAY

OUT OF CHARACTER
by Diana Miller

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
Stepping out of your comfort zone can be hazardous…
Denver, Colorado, ER doctor Jillian Rodgers has never done an impulsive thing in her life. But all that changes when she meets the man of her dreams on a ski vacation. Within twenty-four hours, they’ve spent a passionate night together and Jillian is convinced she’s halfway in love. After all, she figures the worst that can happen is she’ll go home with a broken heart…
But the man pretending to be an ordinary guy is far from it. In fact, he shouldn’t get anywhere near Jillian. Yet there’s something about her he can’t resist—and she’s perfect for his cover. Besides, he’s sure he isn’t endangering her.
Unfortunately, they’re both wrong.
When someone uses their chairlift for target practice, Jillian ends up wounded—and her dream man promptly disappears. Within days, her car explodes. Just when things can’t get any worse, she’s kidnapped at gunpoint. Soon Jillian’s running for her life and forced to depend on the man who deserted her, a man who claims he’s trying to protect her but whose story has more holes than a gauze bandage. A man Jillian once thought she loved, but now isn’t sure she should even trust.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

EXCERPT

The moon and stars sparkled in the crystal cold, illuminating shadowy peaks, onyx sky, and an occasional fat snowflake. In the lamplight below their chairlift, two silhouettes traversed glowing Styrofoam snow. Jillian half-expected to see an ice palace and snow queen. “Admit it, it’s beautiful.”

“Beautiful.” Mark kissed her, his lips warm despite the chilly air.

“Be careful. You might fall out.”

His teeth flashed in the twilight. “Then I could find out how good a doctor you are.”

“I’m damn good.”

He kissed her again, longer this time. “Can’t argue with that.”

“I was referring to my medical skills.” She took a deep breath, inhaling air that seemed to purify her lungs. “I love this. Thanks for agreeing to do it.”

* * * *

Mark nodded. He was glad she was enjoying it. But after two more runs, three tops, they were heading back to his place. He didn’t have much more time with her, and he didn’t intend to waste—

A bullet struck their chair.

“Damn it. Get down.” Mark pressed Jillian forward with her head between her knees. He covered her head with his chest as a second bullet hit his ski boot.

“What is it?” She sounded confused, scared.

“I think someone’s shooting at us.” Adrenaline sharpened his senses. He scanned the hillside, but couldn’t see anyone. From the direction of the bullets, the sniper was hidden in the thick pines that lined both sides of the slope. Shooting back would be futile, even if he’d dared stop shielding Jillian long enough to pull out his gun.

She cried out, jerked under him, and dropped her poles.

Mark’s gut clenched. “Are you all right?”

“It hit my shoulder, but I don’t think it’s bad,” she said shakily. “Why is this happening?”

A shot whizzed past his ear. Nearly a bulls-eye

AUTHOR Bio and Links:

When she was eight, Diana decided she wanted to be Nancy Drew. But no matter how many garbage cans she dug through, conversations she “accidentally” overheard, and attics she searched, she never found a single mysterious letter, hidden staircase, or anything else even remotely mysterious or suspenseful. She worked as a lawyer, a soda jerk, a stay-at-home mom, a hospital admitting clerk, and a conference host for events ranging from Lutheran music to the International BB Gun competition. She spent long hours volunteering in a nineteenth century mansion allegedly full of secrets and a few ghosts. Still no luck.

Diana ultimately decided the only way she was going to inject any mystery or suspense into her otherwise satisfying life was by writing about it. Her debut novel, Dangerous Affairs, won a Golden Heart Award from the Romance Writer of America, and she’s received five Golden Heart nominations, including one for Out of Character.

Diana lives in the Twin Cities with her family and an energetic Wheaten terrier.

MY REVIEW
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
What a delightful read! From page one, the story grabs your attention, and have you sitting on the edge of your seat till the end.
The plot is full of suspense, sometimes I felt like I was in a maze, so many twists and turns!! Mark is a really complex character, you don't know if he's a good or bad guy!!?? Jillian is more simple, more real, so they have a good balance, I'd love a little more of chemistry between our main characters, more fire.
This story is more suspenseful than romantic, but overall, it's a really enjoyable reading.

FOOL FOR LOVE BY SUSAN LUTE - VIRTUAL & REVIEW TOUR + GIVEAWAY

A Fool for Love
by Susan Lute

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
When a gypsy caravan-style truck breaks down at Martha's curbside, the last thing Zach Barret needs is an impulsive pixie rocking his boat. The more determined he is to stay away from the free-spirited, green-eyed nomad, the more he finds one kiss is not enough. Uncovering Alice York's secrets in paintings of empty swings and merry-go-rounds puts a new priority in the top spot on his short list. But can he convince this stunning woman to park her truck permanently in his drive?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
EXCERPT:

Zach turned his attention to Alice. Unfortunately he hadn't put his best foot forward when he'd first encountered the foxy owner of the Ford. “Where were you headed when your fuel pump gave out?”

“Longview, Washington. Got a job there.”

“What kind of job, if you don't mind me asking?”

“I don't mind.” She nestled her chin in the palm of her hand, the sparkle in her eyes snapping with wry humor. “I work on classic cars.”

Remembering his first sight of her, he asked, “You're a mechanic?”

“Does that surprise you?”

The subtle scent of vanilla coming from her side of the table sent rational thought on a long hike in the opposite direction from practical reason. It was a good thing he was a grown man who had the power to stand up to steamy distractions.

“No.” The stranger his granddad and Lucy had invited to stay in their basement, who said she slept in her truck when it broke down, could be anything from a burglar to a most wanted criminal.

Stunning green eyes studied him. The punch to his gut wasn't that unpleasant.

Everything about the woman, the cut of her short, wispy, strawberry-blonde hair, the flowery dress that snuggled close to curves he couldn't help noticing, the energetic wave of slender hands when she talked with Lucy, all suggested an impulsive pixie who liked rocking the boat. He didn't like his boat rocked.

My teeth hurt so much!! This is such a sweet, sweet novella.
Yes it's short, but the Author was able to give us a full story. The characters, scenes, dialogues and plot are well developed.
Seriously, both main characters, Alice and Zach, are perfect for each other, and it's going to take only a couple of day for they to realize, that maybe there's a happily ever after for them?

Highly recommended for any kind of reader

Illumination

Love
While standing together against unrelenting adversaries, false friends, family betrayals, and an underlying seed of darkness, they must burn bright, or the ruthless power behind the ancient spell will turn everything to ash.

With Flint as her beacon in a field of darkness, Violet will discover that love holds the most powerful magic of all.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
EXCERPT
“Good evening, Violet.” A deep male voice tinted with a faint Russian accent drifted into the kitchen and sparked goose bumps across her skin.
He’d found her.
Violet fumbled the grocery bag in her arms before placing the burden on the counter. “How…How did you find me?” She peeked around the corner into the living room, and there he sat—Flint.
Resting on his lap, a large bouquet of yellow roses popped with color against the darkness. The tissue paper crinkled as he shifted in the chair.
“Pillar told me.” His raven-wing hair and amber eyes were only discernable by the flickering light dancing across his angular features.
Violet heaved a heavy sigh. “She’s developed a big sister complex where I’m concerned. This continual belief by her that I don’t know what’s best for my own life is insulting, not to mention ridiculous. My IQ is 185. So, this condescending attitude is quite unfair.” Glaring at the man sitting in shadow, she let the silence stretch for a moment. “I realize you may have reservations about Pillar, due to her past with Quint…and the whole relationship with…ah…Nodin,” Violet flicked her fingers through the air. “But she’s trying to change. You should give her a chance.”
“Don’t.” His tone turned harsh. “Don’t give that salty square your allegiance. She sought me out. That should speak for itself.” Flint waved a hand, as if everything should be perfectly clear.
It wasn’t.
MY REVIEW
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Fantastic and fast paced Paranormal Romance!!
I love everything involving Mother Nature and the Elements, and Fire is my favorite one, so this book is for me a winner.
Flint, representing Fire, and Violet, enchanted with the power of the Electromagnetic spectrum, are that, a full of energy, light, heat, chemistry and explosive couple, embarked together in a journey against a dark and evil enemy, who is Violet's destiny to destroy or be destroyed by him. But that's not her only problem, our hot Flint is trying, by all means, to sparkle her heart with love, will she let her barriers down and allow romance in her life? Love conquers all, doesn't it?
The story is full of magic, love, betrayal, good - evil fights, action, great dialogues, complex characters, funny moments and a lot of heat!!
Highly recommended to Paranormal/Romance/Sci Fi readers.
WICKED BLOG TOUR: JULY 1 - 12 ~ CATCHPENNY PART ONE: WICKED LOVER ~ REVIEW + GIVEAWAY
CATCHPENNY
Part One: WICKED LOVER
By SARAH WATHEN
Synopsis
Have you ever wondered about that girl at the edge of the crowd? The one who has dark, bushy hair that hides her eyes while she's reading, but tight shirts that don't even try to hide the size of her breasts?  You've heard the rumors, you know the rude nicknames, and you wonder what she really does when she's not in school. She never comes to parties and she lives in a neighborhood where nice girls never venture. Everyone tries to ignore her...but there is something about her that's impossible to ignore. Especially for the star quarterback, apparently. Because he just asked her to the Homecoming dance, after dumping the head cheerleader.
Catchpenny tells the story from the eyes of "that girl," and Wicked Lover is just the beginning of this coming of age serial novel.  The small town minds of Shirley County have  underestimated  Meg  Shannon  for  too  long.  She’s even more fun than she is trouble…but maybe she has finally met her match.
Excerpt
I opened up Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina, the pages blue after letting my closed eyes bake in the sun. I thumbed a few pages forward to see where the chapter ended, not really in the mood for reading, but always more comfortable to have a book in hand at lunchtime.
“Meg?”
He was standing just behind me, his head cocked to one side, looking over my shoulder at the Tolstoy. I gasped—I couldn’t help it.
“Hi, I’m Tristan.”
He was squinting into the sun, and it was hard to tell if he was smiling or frowning.
“Yeah, I know who you are.”
He shaded his eyes and laughed. Didn’t everyone know who he was? He was on the billboard in front of the football field, for god’s sake, his arm cocked back to throw a winning pass. Go Bobcatts!
“What are you reading?” His voice was soft and curious, with the hint of a Southern drawl that you didn’t hear in my neighborhood. High-class molasses. He squinted to read the pages I held open in my lap.
“Uh…” I faltered. The sun shone through his light irises like glass, shocking against his dark hair. His black polo shirt was gathered loosely around one hip, the hand in his pocket pushing it up casually over the waistband of his jeans. A slice of flesh was made visible. He stood in perfect contrapposto, bookbag slung over his shoulder like Michelangelo’s David holding the slingshot. I closed my book and tossed it onto the table, pretending not to notice how his jeans hung, low and delicious on slender hips. “Just something for English Lit.”
“How can you read out here? It’s so bright.”
Because I’d rather read a book than sit alone with no one talking to me. “I heard that people with light eyes have a harder time adjusting to bright light.”
“Really?”
He stepped closer to me, shifting his weight and putting his back to the sunlight. The color of his eyes reminded me of Halls Mentho-Lyptus cough drops after I’d sucked on one for a while and the zing got too strong to keep it in my mouth—icy blue and transparent.
“I don’t want to bother you or anything,” he said, dropping his voice lower, since we were face to face then. He smelled like soap and clean laundry, with something gritty underneath. Something undeniably male.
“No, I—” I cleared my throat. He was even better looking up close. “I’m not busy.”
He glanced back over his shoulder and the group of girls who had been watching suddenly picked up their conversation again, all of them talking at once and fumbling with their lunches. I was waiting with as much anticipation as they had been—why on earth was he talking to me?
“I’ll let you get back to your book, but I just wanted to ask you something.”
“Sure. What’s up?” Those eyes.
“Would you be my date for Homecoming this weekend?”
“Cough drop—” I spluttered.
“Huh?”
I slapped my chest and choked out a cough. “I mean…uh, the dance?”
“Yeah, the dance.”
 “Wait. Don’t you have a girlfriend?” I wasn’t exactly buddies with anyone in the popular crowd at Andrew Jackson, nowhere close. But everyone knew that the star quarterback and the head cheerleader had been together since freshman year. Sugary sweet.
“No. I don’t have a girlfriend.” That smile again, but with an undercurrent in his voice.
The neighboring table had gone silent once more, the bombshell news of Tristan’s single status freezing them all mid-prattle.
“Absolutely.” I grinned over his shoulder—a present for our shocked audience.
“Absolutely, you’ll go with me?”
Did he really think I would say no? The curiosity itself was enough for me to agree.
“Sure. Why not?” I shrugged, like it was nothing to me. Yeah, right.
“Great. Okay, lemme just get your number...” He handed me his phone and I punched my number in, wondering what kind of psychedelic rabbit hole I had accidentally wandered through. Had somebody drugged my orange juice that morning? He took his phone back and saved, whispering, “Meg…Shannon,” as he typed. “Okay. Well, I’ll see you around, then?”
“Yeah, see ya.” I resisted the urge to bite down on my knuckles.
He winked at me and waved over his shoulder as he turned back to the courtyard entrance. His jeans looked even nicer from behind, snug around his well-shaped glutes and muscular thighs. “Bye, Meg.”
“Bye.”
I picked my book up again, refusing to gaze at his retreating form in concert with the other females. A wink, though. What did that mean? Maybe it was just the bright light on his Mentho-Lyptus eyes. I opened Anna Karenina again and pretended to concentrate for the rest of lunch. But I couldn’t read another word.
TRUST IN THE UNSEEN BY SETH MULLINS - VIRTUAL TOUR + GIVEAWAY
Trust in the Unseen
by Seth Mullins
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

BLURB

Following the rigors of their self-made tour of the West, the members of the groundbreaking and volatile band Edge of the Known - "hands down, craziest band on Earth" - have an unprecedented chance to finally expose their music to the world. Unfortunately, singer/guitarist Brandon Chane, founder member and erratic genius of the group, is weathering a spiraling trip through an abyss of heartbreak and despair.

His personal pain threatens to derail his band's progress even as it fuels some of its most incendiary songs. To further complicate matters, his mentor, Saul Mason, is weathering his personal crisis and no longer seems to be the all-knowing spiritual savant that Brandon first perceived him to be.

The road ahead looks bleak; and once more, he turns to the one thing that has sustained him throughout the course of his wounded, conflicted and inspired life: His Muse.

"We'd all thrown our fates to the wind, trusting in the unknown - in the Unseen, as our EP so proudly proclaimed - and that leap had thus far landed us in a place where we couldn't even grope our way forward in the dark anymore."

Discovering his voice was only the first step of the journey. Now he must somehow learn to trust the depths from which it comes, and the unknown horizons that it may sweep him away to, even as every part of his personal world seems to be falling apart.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
EXCERPT
I gazed down at the street below and felt the whole spinning and sickening free-fall that could bring me to kiss that pavement. A couple walked by, hand in hand, oblivious to the clamor of Armageddon. I gave up in that moment. I couldn’t stop her. The gods had granted Janie complete executive power over my damned soul.
Her heart was turning away, shining its light elsewhere? I was never going to touch her again? Suddenly the fall from the balcony seemed the much kinder terror.
“You need someone who can really meet you in those places. And I…”
“Don’t!” I managed. “Don’t act like you’re doing this for my sake. I can decide what’s good for me!”
“Fair enough.” Her voice was wispy, insubstantial: An echo of the distance that had already claimed us. “I need to feel like I can keep up.
“It’s like… you’re living in this world that’s being totally reinvented every day. And I’m sort of stumbling along trying to figure out what the rules are.”
“There aren’t any rules!” I protested. “Just be with me, and…”
“I can’t.”
Janie bit her lip. One fat tear slid down her cheek. I doubt that she’d wanted to say it so bluntly. But what gentle way is there?
Folding chairs, and a wooden rail rife with splinters; cigarette smoke lingering in the still spring air. Nothing there to cling to, to spare me from the plunge.
This can’t be happening!
I’d once told her that if it ever came to this I would understand. I’d been a goddamn liar. The death of something so beautiful and divinely inevitable could never be understood; it was incomprehensible.
Janie reached over and squeezed my arm. “Hey. I do treasure what we’ve shared.”
“Then don’t turn your back on it and let it die!” I growled. I could feel my face curling into a snarl. I couldn’t stop it. Janie withdrew. Having lost the focal point of my anger, I reverted to teetering on the edge of the precipice.
“I really tried, Brandon,” she said.
It was that voice both forlorn and resolute, and every man hears his end in it.
